The KDA series - high-efficiency precision drills

Achieve a stable process and perfect finish with KDA

January 22, 2024

Kyocera's KDA drill series are high-quality coated carbide drills designed for precision machining and suitable for a wide variety of applications in materials such as steel, stainless steel and cast iron. The drill series, which has a unique chip channel design and curved cutting edges, is divided into two types. Type N (Normal) is for general use, and works with external cooling. Type C (Coolant) has internal spiralized cooling channels and is specially developed for demanding environments and machining of, for example, stainless steel.

KDA type info

All drills in the KDA series are coated with an AlCr coating, which significantly increases tool life compared to conventional drill types. The heat-resistant and durable coating of the drills, combined with the unique design, together provide outstanding sharpness, strong cutting edges and excellent chip control.

By using Kyocera Unimerco's ReNew service, it is possible to regrind KDA drills several times. This gives you financial benefits that are both environmentally friendly and ultimately increase your bottom line by reducing the cost of new tools. With Kyocera's affordable ReNew service, your tool will perform at least as well as a new tool, ensuring stable production and minimal post-processing every time. In this way, you can increase your productivity at the same time.
The diameter range of the KDA series ranges from Ø3 – 16 mm, in sizes 3×D and 5×D.

Key advantages:

  • Coated carbide drills with or without internal cooling channels designed for stable and efficient drilling.
  • Strong coating for heat-dissipating properties and increased tool life for maximum productivity.
  • • Unique design of cutting edges and chip flutes ensures precision, good chip control and nice finish.
  • KDA can be resharpened several times after wear, thus reducing the cost of new tools.
