Manufacturer of cutting tools for the fishing industry Kyocera Unimerco now launches its newly developed Uni-X knife for, among others, Baader machines. The knife is based on many years of experience and is a further development of the manufacturer’s well-known Uni-7 circular knife.

“The new Uni-X knife has a long tool life,” explains export manager Hanne-Mette Christensen from Kyocera Unimerco.

“Some of our customers have been using the knife for up to 170 hours, without the Uni-X losing its sharpness, and with no signs of wear, cracks or rust,” says Hanne-Mette Christensen.

Regrinding the knife takes little time, and only a tiny amount of material is removed before it can be used again. That increases the lifetime of the knife, because it can be reground more times than usually.

“This knife is a cost-saver because fewer knife changes are required. Furthermore, it cuts with high precision, resulting in less fish waste,” says Hanne-Mette Christensen.
