Kyocera Unimerco acquires 100% of the shares of BFT and GSB

Kyocera acquires German-based cutting tool manufacturers for oscillation machining.

 

Kyocera Unimerco Tooling A/S has signed a share transfer agreement to acquire 100% of the shares for BFT Hartmetall Werkzeuge GmbH & Co. KG and GSB GmbH, both located in the same location north of Hamburg, Germany.

 

Background and objectives

Kyocera Unimerco offers complete solutions for tool manufacturing, including a wide range of cutting tools and services. The focus is on indexable tools and PCD, solid carbide round tools for milling, drilling, and turning applications.

  

High precision carbide tools for oscillation machining

 

BFT, on the other hand, was founded in 1987 and has long been known for producing high precision carbide tools for oscillation machining, which are widely used in industries such as aerospace, automotive, packaging, engineering and textile industries etc. 

 

The products cut various materials like composite materials, PVC foam, rubber and leather, as well as technical textiles.

 

GSB was founded in 2018 and produces oscillating knife drives, which are used with BFT tools.

Kyocera Unimerco will welcome BFT and GSB into the group and use their expertise in oscillation machining to expand the capability and offer customers a wider range of products.
